uninstall all of the codec you have in you PC.

search for CCCP insurgent to find out what codecs you have. uninstall them if you find one.

after that, install CCCP (Combind Community Codec Pack).

then install your video player.

I recommend:
GOM player, because its lightweirght.
VCL player, its more universal and i can say probably all videos out there are based around
it.

install them both. why?
because some HD movies (mkv files plays very well with GOM, and plus its nicer)
if a movies doesnt play with GOM, then VCL.

good luck. and trust me, those both player are all you'll ever need.
